The injection molding and extrusion temperature of polycarbonate (PC) generally ranges from 260–320°C, which is considered a relatively high processing temperature. Therefore, when selecting additives, particular attention must be paid to their thermal stability. Since the dosage of UV absorbers is typically low, any loss during processing can significantly reduce the material's anti-aging performance.
UV absorbers suitable for use in PC include DSunsorb UV-234, DSunsorb UV-329, DSunsorb UV-360, DSunsorb UV-3030, and DSunsorb UV-1577. Among these, the latter three are regarded as high-end UV absorbers. With their advantages of high absorption efficiency, environmental safety, and long-lasting anti-photoaging protection, they greatly enhance the durability and weather resistance of polycarbonate.
