what is UV-1164

UV 1164 is one of the most powerful and durable UV absorbers derived from hydroxyphenyl-S-triazine. Its absorption capacity is higher in the B region of UV radiation, where the absorbance is from 290 to 350 nm, with a maximum absorbance at 342 nm. This is the wavelength at which most ethylene polymers begin to break down.

Advantages of UV 1164 are: high photostability, minimal contribution to final color, low interaction with metal ions (e.g. catalytic residues) and very low volatility, which limits processing issues such as fouling throughout the process , surface defects and lip forming life.

UV 1164 is the preferred UV absorber for greenhouse PE films used in sunny areas. Furthermore, UV 1164 is the most commonly used UV absorber used to improve the light fastness of many organic pigments and dyes for mass dyeing of synthetic fibers (PP, PA, PET).

application:

Due to its UV-B absorption and low volatility and tendency to sublimate, UV 1164 is highly recommended for engineering resins such as PA, PC, PET, PBT, PMMA, POM, PE, PP, TPO, ASA, ABS and polymer blends In general, in all applications requiring a large surface area, such as fibers, laminated films, PE/EVA films for greenhouses, must withstand 36-48 months of intensive exposure in sunny areas, and for PC roofing sheet.

UV 1164 is also the UV absorber of choice for powder coatings (for automotive and coils) cured at elevated temperatures in excess of 185 °C and exposed to environmental attack.

In other fields, UV 1164 is also suitable for PU, Poly Keton.

dose:

UV 1164 needs to be added at a percentage of 0.15% to 5% (on the finished product taking into account pigments and other additives).

Storage and transportation:

Good chemical stability. It can be stored and transported according to the regulations of general chemical substances.

Package:

20kg/barrel or as required.
